
David has nearly 15 years of experience in a practice focused on employment law and ERISA litigation. He represents employers defending all types of employment-related claims, as well as claims for denial of benefits under employer-sponsored plans governed by ERISA.
He also represents insurers, claims administrators, and employers in ERISA cases. In employment law, David defends employers at all stages of litigation, and assists employers in drafting employee policies and agreements, diversity training, workplace investigations and consulting with clients on hiring, disciplining and terminating employees.
In the community, David is a volunteer for the Utah Children’s Justice Center and regularly provides pro bono services assisting victims of domestic violence in obtaining protective orders.
David earned his law degree at Brigham Young University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with membership in the Order of the Coif. He simultaneously obtained his master’s in psychology at BYU, again graduating Magna Cum Laude.
He also holds a bachelor’s degree from BYU. David is licensed to practice in Utah’s state and federal courts and the Tenth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. David currently serves as the Managing Shareholder at Fabian VanCott.
