David Nordsieck is a Litigation and Enforcement associate based in Ropes & Gray’s Chicago office. Dave focuses his practice on government enforcement matters, internal investigations, complex commercial litigation, and cross-border transactions.
He has represented companies in the health care, internet infrastructure, industrial equipment, and private equity industries on issues related to the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, securities fraud, insider trading, and corporate compliance. Dave’s pro bono practice has included the representation of a parent in state administrative proceedings, as well as individuals seeking asylum.
Prior to joining the firm, Dave volunteered at Friendship Works, a children’s mentoring charity in London, where he focused on expanding their services to reach more children. During law school, Dave worked as a law clerk in the litigation department of the Missouri Attorney General’s Office.

- Represented pharmaceutical companies in DOJ investigations into possible off-label promotion and issues related to patient assistance programs.
- Representing a medical testing laboratory in federal appellate court regarding an FTC order stemming from a prior data security incident.
- Conducting internal investigations related to alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act for regulated and publicly-traded entities in Asia, Central & South America, and Eastern Europe.
- Representing a U.S.-based multinational medical device company in an industry-wide FCPA investigation involving countries across Europe, Asia, and South America.
- Advising private equity firms and their portfolio companies on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and international risk issues in cross-border transactions.
- Representing individuals from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who are seeking asylum as a result of their human rights activities.
- Represented an investment manager in an internal investigation of a subsidiary’s potential bribery of local government officials in Eastern Europe.
- Represented a single mother in successfully expunging a DCFS finding in front of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Administration Hearing Unit.
