As the former owner of several successful companies, David Russell’s business acumen helps inform his legal counsel. Through his entrepreneurial experience, Dave gained first-hand knowledge of the legal, strategic and operational challenges – and opportunities – his business clients face. This allows him to take a proactive approach to the law and help clients to spot and resolve issues before they become problems.
Dave joined Foster Swift after gaining corporate and commercial litigation experience at two smaller mid-Michigan law firms. He is a co-leader of the General Litigation Practice Group, and his practice serves a wide-range of client needs, including in the areas of commercial litigation, business law, real estate law, sports and entertainment law, liquor licensing and probate and estate litigation.
He is always eager to share his legal and practical business knowledge with future business owners and has enjoyed teaching Business Law at Northwood University for the last several years.
