David C. Seastrunk focuses his practice on patent litigation before federal district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) involving a wide range of electrical and mechanical technologies. He also represents both petitioners and patent owners in post-grant proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), including inter partes reviews (IPR).
David is involved in all phases of patent litigation, including pre-litigation analysis; developing discovery strategies; examining and defending witnesses at deposition; preparing expert discovery; motions practice; and drafting pretrial and summary judgment motions and briefs.
David also practices patent prosecution and strategic client counseling, working with in-house counsel at large corporations as well as inventors and founders of startup companies that are pursuing patent protection.
David’s technical experience spans a wide range of subject matter areas, including computer software, internet and network information processing, consumer electronics, wireless communications, industrial manufacturing, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), fibers, textiles, polymers, films, and medical devices.
David also devotes considerable time to pro bono matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. While in law school, David was a founding member of the cancer pro bono clinic, a joint project between local law schools in North Carolina.
