Shea Bettwy focuses his practice on intellectual property matters, including trademark, copyright, trade secrets, patents, false advertising, unfair competition, publicity rights, and domain names. In addition to his litigation practice, Shea assists clients with drafting terms and conditions and privacy policies for websites and mobile applications, trademark prosecution, and research on legal and industry-related issues in the intellectual property field.
Shea is actively involved in Steptoe’s pro bono program. His pro bono experience includes trademark prosecution, representing a subpoenaed non-party in a civil action involving sexual assault, and petitioning for post-conviction relief for a minor sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Apart from his practice at Steptoe, Shea has published four articles in law journals on various subject matters.
