Growing up as the son of two military parents, Mr. Thompson gained a strong work ethic with an obsession for detail which has helped him to become a proven trial attorney. He has represented clients in all phases of the litigation process, from pre-suit demands through trial. Mr. Thompson has tried several cases throughout the circuit courts of the state with consistently positive results for his clients.
Mr. Thompson graduated law school in 2008 and joined the State Attorney’s Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, covering Duval, Nassau and Clay counties. He represented the citizens of Jacksonville in the prosecution of thousands of cases, successfully trying over 60 jury trials.
During his time with the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Thompson was the head of the DUI Unit before progressing through Circuit Court, Repeat Offender Court and, ultimately, was in the Homicide/Major Crimes Unit for two years.
In 2014, Mr. Thompson began practicing civil litigation for the largest insurance firm in the country, defending several different types of cases. Mr. Thompson was able to gain valuable experience handling hundreds of cases and tried several complex cases for the defense, all with positive results.
Mr. Thompson joined Coker Law as an associate attorney in 2018, where he has taken his knowledge of how insurance companies operate and evaluate cases to help his clients who have been injured due to the negligence of others.
