Deborah Bowinski is a solo practitioner whose practice focuses on representing people in consumer bankruptcy cases and helping borrowers find solutions to their unmanageable student loan debt. Debby does not believe in a “one size fits all” approach to financial difficulties.
She takes time to evaluate an individual’s situation and circumstances in order to provide comprehensive information and advice as to available options and anticipated results. Debby’s practice is to find the best solutions that bring the most complete relief possible.
Debby attended Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA graduating with a degree in Anthropology. After relocating from the East Coast Debby obtained her J.D. from the University of Denver, College of Law in 1988.
After admission to the bar, Debby served as a staff attorney for the Chapter 13 Trustee for two-and-a-half years where she gained an in-depth understanding of Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases as well as the inner workings of the Chapter 13 Trustee’s office. While there, Debby had an active role assisting with hiring and training new staff attorneys.
Upon leaving the trustee’s office Debby entered private practice and has been successfully representing individuals in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases for over 20 years.
While the laws have changed since her time at the Chapter 13 Trustee’s office, her experience there has enhanced her understanding of many varied and complicated Chapter 13 issues and her ability to negotiate and resolve confirmation challenges.
She is a graduate of the intensive, nationally renowned Student Loan Law Workshop which offers attorneys advanced and detailed training in student loan collection and repayment issues, and numerous strategies for obtaining relief for borrowers.
