Del specializes in the area of complex personal injury, professional malpractice, and elder abuse claims. His extensive experience makes him among the leaders of his profession as an advocate for victims of negligence, neglect, and professional malfeasance.
Del has successfully resolved cases through trial settlement, arbitration, and mediation. He has handled hundreds of cases with results in the six and seven figure range.
Del has also been recognized for his exemplary legal skills as an outstanding advocate by the Southeast District Bar, which awarded him Attorney of the Year.
Few attorneys in the Los Angeles/Orange county regions can match Del’s accomplishments. He has practice law in our community for 37 years. Del graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1975, where he was awarded “Distinction in General Scholarship” (equivalent to “Cum Laude”).
Mr. Hovden then attended and graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in the year of 1978, where he achieved awards for Moot Court and advocacy. Del passed the California Bar that same year and has practiced law in the state of California since 1978.
Mr. Hovden was admitted to practice law in all courts, in both state and federal, in California. He is also admitted to practice law by the Central District of California Federal Bar and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Del has extensive ties to the legal community and civil justice. He has been a board member and president of the local bar association and the Southeast District Bar Association. Del is also an active member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, the Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles and the Western Trial Lawyers Association.
Del is also active in community events with the Whittier Hos Lions Club, the YMCA and other civic organizations. Del also serves as a private and public mediator and arbitrator of product liability claims, general personal injury claims, professional malpractice claims, and elder abuse matters.
