
Denise Alvarez is a senior associate in the Firm’s Litigation Department, where her practice focuses on various forms of complex litigation in both federal and state courts and in arbitration. Ms. Alvarez has robust experience litigating matters involving bankruptcy, class actions, contracts, fiduciary duties, copyright, and antitrust, on behalf of companies in the media, banking, energy, insurance, and manufacturing industries.
Ms. Alvarez has been involved in successfully representing clients in a number of high profile matters, including Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. in numerous contested matters and adversary proceedings in Bankruptcy Court, as well as in successful mediations, and the National Geographic Society in several copyright infringement matters involving the Complete National Geographic, a compendium of all of the issues of National Geographic Magazine.
Ms. Alvarez is actively involved in a number of diversity initiatives, including [email protected], the Firm’s women affinity group and [email protected], the Firm’s Hispanic affinity group. Ms. Alvarez also co-heads the Mothers group at the Firm.
Ms. Alvarez received a B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany, summa cum laude, and her J.D. from Pace University School of Law, magna cum laude. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
