Ms. Denise Hoffman obtained a Masters degree in Taxation from New York University School of Law. She represents organizational and individual clients in all areas of controversy resolution and tax planning.
Her major practice area include: IRS audits and appeals, tax- exempt organizations, federal estate and gift tax and state and local tax (including property tax and sales and use tax). Ms. Hoffman has sufficient experience in working with tax-exempt establishments.
Denise helps her clients as they work in resolving both organizational and operational critical tax and business issues. Ms. Hoffman also provides general counsel to tax exempt organizations on corporate, regulatory and compliance matters. She has organized projects that involve: structuring affiliated business enterprises between exempt entities; providing advice on the right conduct for political and lobbying activities; and negotiating tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service.
These projects are conducted on behalf of private foundations, national and international charities, schools and educational institutions, cultural institutions, social service agencies, trade and professional associations, research organizations, advocacy groups, social clubs and religious organizations.
Ms. Hoffman also advises and represents clients with custom wealth and business succession planning. She also works in area involving charitable gifting, federal estate and gift tax analysis and compliance, estate and trust administration, counsel with respect to fiduciary duties and related disputes, sales and transfers of closely-held business interests.
Ms. Hoffman has represented clients involved in federal and state tax audits and appeals; she has negotiated settlements with the IRS and state and local taxing authorities regarding income tax, sales and use tax, estate and gift tax and property tax disputes on behalf of clients.
