Derek B Simms

Derek B. Simms, the owner and lead attorney at Simms & Associates, graduated with honors from Northern Arizona University.

He was admitted to the Cumberland School of Law in 1994, where he was invited to write for the prestigious American Journal of Trial Advocacy. He was among the top 5 graduates in his law school graduating class.

Mr. Simms was selected to participate in one of the highly coveted legislative intern positions with the Arizona State Senate, serving on the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee.

He later worked with a well known insurance company as a senior level claims adjuster, negotiating property damage and personal injury settlements before starting his own accident investigation firm.

Mr. Simms is regarded by his peers as one of the top personal injury lawyers in Birmingham. He has been invited to speak on a variety of personal injury topics at continuing legal education seminars, and has successfully represented hundreds of clients since opening the firm in 1999.
