Diane Cooper

Kramer, Dillof, Livingston & Moore

Diane C. Cooper is an experienced New York civil litigator specializing in medical malpractice and negligence and has extensive experience with all phases of litigation in these areas. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from New York University’s College of Arts & Sciences, Diane earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. While at law school, Diane was awarded a prestigious public interest summer fellowship with the National Labor Relations Board in Washington DC.

Upon graduation, Diane worked for the New York City Housing Authority and later, a boutique civil and commercial litigation firm in downtown Manhattan, Fisher, Fisher & Berger. Thereafter, she practiced medical malpractice defense litigation at Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker, LLP, the largest insurance defense firm in the country.

In 2002, Diane accepted an appointment as a confidential law clerk/principal court attorney to the Honorable Harold B. Beeler, J.S.C. in Manhattan Supreme Court. During her 6 years working with Justice Beeler, Diane gained invaluable experience working closely with the Court in preparing for and deciding civil motions and cases, including a broad array of legal issues under New York State Law, and assisted the Court with all phases of trials, including pre-trial motions, evidentiary issues, legal research and drafting jury instructions and verdict sheets.

Following the clerkship, Diane spent 8 years working at an established Nassau County, Long Island plaintiffs’ medical malpractice firm, Bruce G. Clark & Associates, PC where she handled all aspects of plaintiffs’ medical malpractice litigation from inception to trial.

Diane finds it very satisfying to be part of an intense, hardworking collaborative effort to bring life-altering, dramatically beneficial financial compensation to catastrophically injured people, many or most of whom would have no other recourse. When not hard at work, Diane and her husband can be found delighting in their three, magical young daughters.

Diane is a member of the New York Women’s Bar Association, the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York and The National Lawyer’s Guild. On behalf of The National Lawyers Guild, Diane volunteers as a “legal observer” at protests throughout New York City to ensure that the constitutional rights of protestors are not illegally infringed upon.

    Worst experience

This lawyer started her zoom meeting late with my mother then kept asking the questions that my mother already answered causing my mom to get annoyed. Then my mother explained that my grandmother fell and broke her hip she was smirking as well. She also asked what day it is? As if she didn’t know.. basically she thought my mother was slow. She acts like she is miss perfect . I had a zoom meeting with her yesterday and she asked me a very inappropriate and unprofessional question “does the church serve liquor “ ? . I do not recommend her at all and she has a sarcasm behavior. And I don’t think she is a good lawyer .
