
Diane M. Lathrop
Diane M. Lathrop was born and bred in New England. She graduated from Colorado State University with a joint Bachelor of Science degree in both Agriculture and Journalism. Diane went to Law School at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. At law school she focused her studies in the area of Agricultural Law. She received instructions in Agricultural Cooperatives, International Agricultural Trading, and Implementation of Government Agricultural Programs.
At law school she interned as a law clerk for the Iowa Attorney General’s Agricultural Law Division. Daine also graduated from the University of Denver Law School, where she majored on water and environmental law. After graduation, she started private practice in Fort Collins, Colorado.
In the course of private practice, Ms. Lathrop served as a Guardian ad Litem in divorce and Dependency and Neglect cases. She established the Lathrop Law Office in 1997. At this point, her practice was focused mainly on family law.
Ms. Diane Lathrop is widely acclaimed in Larimer County for her skills, professionalism, and experience in matters of family law. She possesses substantial experience in cases relating to matters of complex financing.
A lot of her cases require working with experts in different fields including business valuators, tax experts, tracing experts, parental responsibilities evaluators, child and family investigators, and vocational evaluators. The employment of experts in her work allows her to attain the best results for her clients.
Diane is licensed and admitted to practice law before the Colorado Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, the Wyoming Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming.
Ms. Diane Lathrop is an active member of the Colorado Bar Association, Larimer County Bar Association, Colorado Young Lawyers Association and Colorado Women’s Bar Association. She is also a member of the Larimer County Women’s Bar Association, the Wyoming Bar Association, and the American Agricultural Law Association.
Ms. Diane Lathrop was the President of the Larimer County Bar Association and Larimer County Women’s Bar Association. She has also served on the Executive Board of the Women’s Bar Association and the Board of Governors for the Colorado Bar Association.
She is dutiful and involved in civic and community activities such as the Crossroads Safehouse and Larimer County Legal Aid. Her other activities are in the Fort Collins’ Commission on the Status of Women, and the Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center (SAVA).
