Dianne M. Friedl joined Seyfarth Shaw in May 2015 as counsel for the Litigation Department in the Houston office. Ms. Friedl’s practice areas include commercial litigation, products liability, contract disputes, energy litigation, personal injury, business torts and healthcare litigation.
Ms. Friedl was licensed in 2005 and she is a member of the State Bar of Texas. She began her legal career as an associate with a litigation boutique in Houston where she focused on commercial litigation, with a particular focus on energy litigation and product liability cases. In 2012, Ms. Friedl accepted an of counsel position where she focused on energy litigation and the defense of healthcare providers.
Ms. Friedl’s healthcare experience includes the successful defense of a large non-profit blood center against claims for negligence and the defense of a prominent hospital system against claims for breach of contract and fraud. Her healthcare experience also includes the defense of various other healthcare providers, including hospital systems, physicians and nurses against claims for breach of contract, fraud, negligence and gross negligence.
Ms. Friedl also has experience counseling clients to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and she has experience handling matters involving potential Stark violations, Anti Kick Back violations, and HIPAA violations.
In the energy sector, Ms. Friedl has represented several prominent oil and gas companies and successfully litigated cases involving contractual disputes, downhole failures, offshore injuries, and refinery accidents. Ms. Friedl has first and second chair trial experience and she has successfully handled numerous matters on appeal.
