Dominic started his legal career in 2007 at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Criminal Appeals Division, and continued his prosecutorial career at the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office in 2010. While representing the People of the State of Illinois as an Assistant State’s Attorney, Dominic worked in the traffic, misdemeanour trial, felony review, and felony trial divisions.
In 2013, Dominic co-founded the law firm of Carponelli & Buttitta, LLC. As a criminal defence attorney, Dominic not only continued his criminal trial work, but further honed his litigation skills by co-heading the firms civil practice. Dominic actively represented clients in the civil area, including matters related to: Divorce, Family Law, Commercial Litigation, Estate Planning, Real Estate, Foreclosure Defence, and Business Formation.
Subsequently, in 2015, Dominic reformed his legal practice and founded Buttitta Law Group, LLC. Since such time, Dominic has continued to represent clients in both criminal and civil matters, and has continued to build upon his legal prowess. Dominic has tried well over fifty (50) cases to verdict before judge or jury, has been recognized as a National Top 100 Trial Attorney, and serves as counsel for a variety of corporations, small and large business entities, executives, as well as countless private individuals that just want a lawyer they can depend on and trust.
Unlike many other attorneys, Dominic is uniquely qualified to handle a variety of legal disputes and strives to approach every case in a bold, aggressive, innovative, and no-nonsense fashion. Dominic hails from a family of attorneys, including his two sisters, Angela Buttitta and Dominique Buttitta. Angela practices law in the City of Chicago in the areas of Family Law and Real Estate, and in 2015, Dominic announced the addition of Dominique as an attorney with his firm.
