Mr. G. Don Swaim was born January 23, 1958, in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Redlands High School in Redlands, California in 1976. After graduation, he attended the University of Redlands and Abilene Christian University. In 1980, he graduated magna cum laude from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. While at Abilene Christian, Mr. Swaim worked as an intern for the Abilene, Taylor County Judge.
In 1980, Mr. Swaim entered Baylor University School of Law in Waco, Texas. While at Baylor, he served as a member of the board of the Harvey-Ritchie Moot Court Society. He also served as President of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity. He graduated from Baylor in November of 1982 with a Juris Doctor Degree.
Mr. Swaim joined Kern and Wooley in 1983 and is in the Texas office. His legal experience is broad based, handling a variety of insurance related matters. Mr. Swaim has been involved in the pre-trial preparation, trial and/or appeal of product liability, aviation, bad faith,” insurance agent errors and omissions, primary/excess insurance and general liability cases.
He has tried wrongful death and serious injury product liability, general liability and “bad faith” cases. He has extensive experience in the handling and trial of complex litigation in both state and federal courts, and has handled litigation and/or arbitrations in a number of states including Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Nevada, New Hampshire and California.
Mr. Swaim was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1983. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Southern and Western Districts of Texas. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, the Dallas Association of Defense Counsel and the Dallas Bar Association.
Additionally, Mr. Swaim is board certified by the State of Texas in Personal Injury Trial Law and by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
