He has served as the President of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers, Liaison at the Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility at the American Bar Association and member of the Ethics Committee at the State Bar of Michigan.

He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Wayne State University and B.A. cum laude from the Loyola University of Chicago in 1989 and 1986 respectively. He passed the bar exam and earned admission to the State Bar of Michigan, the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, and the Eastern and Western District Courts of Michigan.
