For more than 25 years, Donald P. Boyle Jr. has successfully litigated complex commercial, environmental, and tort matters through trial and appeal in state and federal courts in Georgia and across the eastern United States.
Whether bringing claims or defending against them, Mr. Boyle assists his clients to get the result they want in the way that is most effective and efficient for them. Mr. Boyle counsels his clients to consider alternative dispute resolution, which through careful planning can result in a true win for the client at a reduced cost over resort to the courts.
Mr. Boyle’s litigation work for major manufacturers and other large corporations and state agencies includes general commercial litigation, contract disputes, insurance coverage, environmental (CERCLA), construction disputes, product liability, toxic torts, debtor-creditor, government contracts, Georgia Tort Claims Act, and eminent domain.
Mr. Boyle’s toxic-tort litigation experience has required use of sophisticated litigation procedures and consultation with experts in fields ranging from hydrology and waste-disposal practices to epidemiology and toxicology.
He has defended such products as cigarettes, automobiles, factory machinery, household appliances, manufacturing wastes, paints, and VOCs. His environmental litigation experience has involved CERCLA (Superfund) matters around the country.
Since 2004, Mr. Boyle has been a member of the Editorial Board of the Georgia Bar Journal and was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal from 2007-2010. He lectures and writes frequently on topics in the area of commercial litigation.
