Drew Barnett has successfully litigated personal injury and wrongful death cases resulting from a variety of circumstances including workplace accidents, medical malpractice, motor vehicle crashes, trucking accidents, dangerous premises, and defective products.
Throughout his career, Mr. Barnett has obtained multiple recoveries in excess of $1 million for his clients.
As a result of his work, Super Lawyers named Mr. Barnett a “Rising Star,” an honor reserved for no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in Alabama.
The National Trial Lawyers named Mr. Barnett a “Top 40 Under 40” lawyer for the state of Alabama. Mr. Barnett was also voted a “Top Attorney” by B-Metro Magazine.
Mr. Barnett is a native of Florence, Alabama. He earned a B.S. in Economics, summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in just three years.
He then earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was chosen to compete on the school’s national trial advocacy team and awarded the George Peach Taylor Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.
During law school, Mr. Barnett was elected by his peers to serve as secretary for the school’s governing body, the Student Bar Association, and inducted into the Bench & Bar Legal Honor Society.
As an Alabama injury lawyer with Belt and Bruner, P.C., Mr. Barnett prides himself on ensuring that the particular effect an accident has on his client is not lost throughout litigation, not allowing his clients’ stories to simply be considered “cases” or “claims.”
He does so because he has witnessed, first-hand, the burdens a traumatic accident can place upon a family.
Outside of work, Mr. Barnett is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting. He was the founding member of the Junior Board of Directors for CASA of Jefferson County, a nonprofit organization that advocates for abused and neglected children.
