
Edward Baughan is member of Gajewski & Baughn. Although he handles all types of cases for the firm, Mr. Baughan is particularly suited to the intricacies of products liability and complex vehicle accident cases.
He has been the lead attorney in several high profile cases including one involving a substantial verdict in Orange County after proving our client was seriously maimed as a result of a defect design in a Bayliner boat.
Mr. Baughan is a skilled trial attorney and has litigated matters in courts in the States of California and Arizona. He prides himself on tenaciously pursuing all avenues of recovery in a case to maximize the financial settlement for the client.
Mr. Baughan received a BS in Business Administration from Cal State Long Beach and is a California native. He attended law school at night while working full time as a police officer in Culver City.
After passing the California Bar on the first attempt in 1986 Mr. Baughan practiced part time while continuing his career in law enforcement until retiring after 38 years of service to the community.
When a boat case required the application of Arizona law to the facts, Mr. Baughan took the Arizona bar and passed it on his first attempt while working the graveyard shift as a police supervisor.
He was awarded the “Medal of Valor” from the Culver City Police Department for action beyond that which was normally expected of an officer in the line of duty that exposed him to great personal risk.
He also received the “Sustained Superior Performance Award” for performance of duties over a significant time at a standard superior in all respects to fellow workers and the “Special Recognition Award” for outstanding performance of duties superior to others in a similar position, in terms of skill, devotion to duty, and originality.
Mr. Baughan remains very proud of his career as a police officer, the education and training it provided and is very supportive of police officers and their efforts to improve the quality of life of the communities they serve.
