E. Nathan Harris is a distinguished attorney based in Hoover, Alabama. A graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, Mr. Harris is a preeminent personal injury attorney and a leading defender of minority rights in the Birmingham region. As he tells it, Harris’ decision to become a lawyer was a natural one. He always wanted to help people. And eventually I came to realize that the best way for me to do that would be through law.
While pursuing his law degree at the University of Alabama, Harris began developing a keen interest in helping the Hispanic communities in his home state. After serving as a Law Clerk for the Constitutional Assembly of Ecuador during a period abroad, Harris undertook a clerkship at his home university in which he researched a memorandum on the issue of standing for undocumented Hispanic Immigrants who sought to sue to redress personal injuries. During these clerkships, a deep appreciation and understanding of what Hispanic people in Alabama go through began to take root.
For Harris, this interest in defending the rights of undocumented immigrants and other minorities blossomed into a unique and magnanimous specialization within personal injury law. Since graduating from law school, he has cultivated one of the leading practices with this focus in the region and today Harris manages two completely bilingual law offices in Alabama and Tennessee.
As a leader in his field, Harris pays close attention to prevailing trends in personal injury law affecting minorities in Alabama. In particular, he has his eye on the effect immigration status might have on a person’s legal standing as it relates to other rights. We really focus on the rights of minorities, especially Hispanic folks in Alabama.
