Eileen Hren Citron is an associate in the Litigation Department of the Firm’s Washington DC office. Ms. Citron has extensive experience litigating complex commercial disputes in federal court and before administrative agencies, and routinely advises clients on regulatory concerns related to compliance with applicable anti-bribery laws including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Ms. Citron has been involved in representing the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in multiple litigations pending before the Federal Maritime Commission and the District Court of New Jersey involving claims seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages under the Shipping Act, the Constitution, and various other federal statutes.
Ms. Citron also has extensive experience representing clients including Lehman Brothers, General Growth Properties, and Washington Mutual in bankruptcy-related matters, including cases involving contested claims, complex financial transactions and derivatives.
In addition to litigating commercial disputes, Ms. Citron’s practice focuses on regulatory concerns including compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other applicable anti-bribery laws in the context of mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and financing transactions.
Ms. Citron has also maintained an active pro bono practice in her time with the firm. Most recently, Ms. Citron has represented current and former inmates in a lawsuit challenging policies and conditions in the Bureau of Prison’s restrictive communications management units. Previously, Ms. Citron represented victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita in a class action lawsuit against FEMA challenging FEMA’s implementation of its emergency housing assistance program.
Ms. Citron received her JD, with honors, from the George Washington University Law School where she served as a Writing Fellow and a Dean’s Fellow, and earned a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs.
