Elibet Caballero is an associate in the Miami office of Lewis Brisbois and is a member of the General Liability Practice. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Ms. Caballero worked as an Assistant Public Defender for over 5 years, where she handled hundreds of cases from inception to resolution.
Ms. Caballero was an “A” attorney, handling the most serious cases, from murder to human trafficking. While working as an APD, she litigated dozens of motions and tried over 25 jury trials to verdict, ranging from misdemeanors to the most serious felonies.
While in law school, Ms. Caballero served as the Director of Special Teams for the Emory Moot Court Society. As a participant in the Super Regional Jessup International Law Moot Court competition, she was awarded top brief and top oralist honors.
Ms. Caballero also interned for the Georgia Legal Services Program, where she researched and wrote analysis of various legal issues, including immigration reform, education discrimination, and language access education under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.
