Elisa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. On appeal and in postconviction proceedings, she challenges convictions and sentences and pursues claims of ineffective assistance of counsel. She also represents immigrants who are challenging convictions to avoid deportation.
Elisa is dedicated to working closely with clients, developing a thorough understanding of each case in order to provide thoughtful, candid counsel.
Before joining the Noble Law Firm, Elisa reviewed criminal and civil appeals, interning at the Colorado Court of Appeals for the Honorable Judge Robert D. Hawthorne.
She also served low-income clients in civil litigation through the Student Law Office at the University of Denver, and volunteered at Towards Justice, helping low income workers recover wages from employers who unlawfully withheld pay.
Prior to her career in law, Elisa lived in Telluride, Colorado. She helped defend immigrant rights and worked closely with community stakeholders to ensure Latino-inclusive policies and legislation.
She also served as the Executive Director of a federal grant to ensure equity in access to health services for San Miguel County youth.
Elisa is originally from Tucson, Arizona. She grew up in a Mexican-American household and is a native Spanish speaker. She is also fluent in Portuguese and conversational in French.
