Elizabeth. D. Adler is a Counsel in King & Spalding’s Business Litigation Practice Group and a member of the Data, Privacy & Security practice in Atlanta. Elizabeth regularly represents clients in complex litigation, particularly class action litigation in state and federal courts across the country, and has extensive experience defending class actions involving data privacy and security issues, including large data breaches and consumer issues.
Elizabeth’s defense of class actions has included defeating class claims alleging violations of data protection and privacy laws, violations of state and federal consumer protection statutes, fraud, and breaches of contract. She has extensive experience with issues arising under the Class Action Fairness Act.
Elizabeth also assists clients proactively on issues of data privacy and cybersecurity and manages data incidents on behalf of clients, including handling breach notifications, government inquiries, and managing public relations professionals and internal investigations with forensic experts.
Elizabeth also serves as Co-Editor for the Firm’s weekly publication, the King & Spalding Data, Privacy & Security Practice Report. Prior to joining the firm, Elizabeth served as a law clerk for United States District Judge Kristi K. DuBose in the Southern District of Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.
Elizabeth graduated, magna cum laude, from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. While in law school, Ms. Adler served as Lead Articles Editor of the Mercer Law Review and served as a member and coach for the Mercer Moot Court Board. Ms. Adler was the recipient of several awards during law school including the Order of Barristers and the Brainard Currie Honor Society. Ms. Adler received her B.A. in English from The University of Alabama.
Elizabeth is actively involved with Families First, serving the Atlanta non-profit organization in various capacities including as a member of the Advocacy Committee. Ms. Adler also serves as the Chair of the Families First Placement for Junior League of Atlanta , managing the partnership between Families First and the Junior League as well as planning all League volunteer efforts for Families First. Ms. Adler received a Families First volunteer award in December 2013.
