Elizabeth Blair Trent was already an experienced attorney when she moved to Southside in 2012, and since then her experience has only grown. She currently has an active practice including criminal defense, representation of children as a Guardian Ad Litem, and all matters of family law such as divorce and child custody.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Hollins University, Blair received her Juris Doctorate from Regent University School of Law and began working as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney first in Portsmouth and then here in Halifax County.
She left the Halifax County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office in 2013 to begin her own private law practice, The Legal Boutique, and operated that firm until going into practice with Mike at the beginning of 2015 by starting the Trent Law Practice.
Through these experiences Blair has come to know the importance of truly serving our community, and that’s where the practice’s dedication to free consultations and court appointed indigent work came from.
In addition to her desire to serve the area in her legal practice, Blair has been extremely involved in serving our community in her personal life since moving to Southside. Most recently, she served as the President of the Prizery during the 2014 year.
In addition, she has been very active in the Halifax County Bar, the Destination Gallery downtown, the GFWC Virginia, the South Boston-Halifax Junior Woman’s Club, and Tri-County Community Action.
She is an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and mother to a busy baby boy who you might see running around the office. Blair is a strong advocate of equal rights for all members of every community and firm believer in the equal protection clause.
