Elizabeth Weil Shaw assists clients primarily with government enforcement actions and inquiries, as well as internal investigations and compliance reviews. Liz has analyzed matters involving investigations by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Justice and State Attorneys General. She is a contributor to the firm’s Anticorruption Blog.

While attending law school, Liz served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Christine Arguello at the US District Court for the District of Colorado. She also externed with the Denver District Attorneys Office and San Francisco Unified School District’s legal department.

Liz worked as an assistant to Professor Margaret Kwoka, researching the use of FOIA as a method of discovery, and Professor Arthur Best updating the supplement to Wigmore on Evidence. Liz served as a teaching assistant in civil procedure, torts, and legal research and writing.

Prior to law school, Liz worked as a Teach For America Corps Member, teaching in Denver Public Schools and earning her Master’s degree in Urban Education.
