
Ellen L. Frye is Counsel in the Firm’s Litigation Department, where she focuses on antitrust-related issues. She counsels clients on pre-merger notification compliance with a focus on international merger control.
She also represents clients in domestic and international government investigations, including investigations alleging price-fixing and market and bid allocations, and reviews of mergers and acquisitions. Ellen also represents clients in private antitrust litigation, and counsels clients on the antitrust implications of their business activities.
Ellen has worked on antitrust matters for clients including Apria, Avago, Blackstone, Capsugel, Centerbridge Partners, CB Richard Ellis, First Reserve, Holcim Ltd., KKR, Novartis, Owens Illinois, Polymer Group Inc., Silver Lake, TE C onnectivity, Tyco, Wyeth, Vestar Capital Partners, Virgin Atlantic, Visant and Xerox.
She regularly executes filings before the European Commission, China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and Brazil’s Council for Economic Defense (CADE), among others, and has experience with foreign merger control regimes in more than twenty-five jurisdictions.
She has also participated at all levels in trials and hearings before federal and state courts and international arbitration tribunals. Ellen is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Ellen received her B.A. in English Language & Literature, with honors, from the University of Washington in 2002, and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law in 2006, where she was a Notes and Articles Editor of the Fordham Law Review. After law school, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Denny Chin, then of the Southern District of New York. From 2012 to 2014, Ellen taught Legal Writing as an adjunct professor at the Fordham University School of Law.
