Elliot Shackelford is a senior associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department who focuses his practice on securities arbitration, SEC and DOJ investigations, and international commercial arbitration matters.
Prior to joining WilmerHale, Mr. Shackelford was a legal intern at the US Securities and Exchange Commission. While there, he researched and drafted agency case investigation memoranda and worked on projects addressing securities regulation, international privacy law, evidentiary standards, and administrative law issues.
In 2013, Mr. Shackelford was a summer associate at WilmerHale, where he analyzed and drafted materials on complex commercial litigation and financial services litigation matters as well as working on legal submissions on behalf of pro bono clients.
Mr. Shackelford previously served as a judicial extern for the Honorable John T. Noonan of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In law school, he worked as a research assistant to Professor David Caron, and earned the American Jurisprudence Award for excellence in international law.
An accomplished pianist, Mr. Shackelford has presented more than 2,500 concerts, including performances at the White House in Washington DC. He also successfully organized and managed a Performing Arts Studio prior to developing his legal career.
