Ellyar Barazesh focuses his practice on patent prosecution, post-grant proceedings and patent litigation. Mr. Barazesh works with clients in a broad range of technology areas, including video and image processing, stereoscopic imaging, semiconductor devices, data encryption, telecommunication systems, graphical user interfaces, medical devices and business methods.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Barazesh worked for three years as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office examining patent applications related to video compression and optical imaging.
He also worked as a patent agent at another law firm in Washington DC, where his practice encompassed preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a variety of engineering disciplines.
During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Barazesh worked at a multinational engineering company researching optical systems, and is a co-inventor of a US patent that resulted from his work. Mr. Barazesh earned his BEE from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
He earned his JD from Georgetown University Law Center, where he received the Leon Robbin Patent Award for attaining the highest average in patent law courses and served as a member of The Tax Lawyer.
