Emily C. Whitaker is an Associate in the Litigation Practice Group. Her practice is focused on representing employers and carriers defending workers’ compensation claims in Virginia. Prior to joining McCandlish Holton, Emily gained useful knowledge of Virginia workers’ compensation law and appellate practice while serving as a judicial clerk for the Hon.
Emily earned her undergraduate and law degrees at William & Mary. While in law school, Emily served as a Senior Articles Editor of the Bill of Rights Journal, an Associate Justice of the Law School Honor Council, and a Legal Practice Writing Fellow.
She gained appellate experience through her internships for the Supreme Court of Virginia Chief Staff Attorney’s Office, the Hon. Theresa M. Chafin of the Court of Appeals of Virginia, and the Hon. LeRoy F. Millette, Jr. of the Supreme Court of Virginia.
Emily gained additional litigation experience as an intern for the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.
