Emily Tang is an experienced litigator and passionate advocate. Mrs. Tang is an Associate at BLG where she focuses her practice on commercial litigation and insurance defense. She represents clients in litigation matters ranging from contract disputes to liability and constitutional claims.
Prior to joining the firm, Mrs. Tang served as an Assistant Public Defender for the 20th Judicial Circuit of Florida. She gained significant litigation experience by handling all aspects of felony, misdemeanor, and traffic cases from intake through sentencing. Mrs. Tang has tried over twenty jury trials and conducted hundreds of hearings.
A proud Volunteer, Mrs. Tang obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Tennessee. A Southwest Florida native, she returned home to earn her Juris Doctor at Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, Florida.
There, she earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Florida Constitutional Law, became an Associate Editor for the Ave Maria Law Review, and served on the Editorial Board as Business Manager. Mrs. Tang enhanced her legal studies, by completing a corporate law course at the University of Cologne in Cologne, Germany.
Mrs. Tang enjoys spending her free time cheering for her Tennessee Volunteers and New York Rangers with her husband, Andrew, and their dog, Sadie. She is licensed to practice in Florida and is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association.
