Emily T. Gregory is the founder of Higher Ground Law. Her law practice focuses on various areas of transactional law. Prior to starting Higher Ground Law, Ms. Gregory was part of a mid-size Denver law firm where she practiced both transactional and litigation law.
Ms. Gregory has acquired significant experience in advising clients in the areas of estate and business succession planning, tax, probate, nonprofit formation and governance, business formation and transactions and real estate transactions. On the litigation side, she has experience representing businesses and individuals in a wide range of civil legal disputes.
If you ask her why she became an attorney, Emily will say that it all comes down to the challenge of problem solving. Each client and matter is unique, and understanding the client’s real interests and goals is paramount. The law was a natural choice to combine her passion for tackling a good challenge with her desire to provide first-rate, yet personal, legal counsel to her clients.
Prior to beginning her legal career, Emily worked in the International Executive Services (Tax) group of KPMG, LLP in Seattle, WA. With KPMG, Emily assisted several Fortune 500 clients with expatriate consulting and tax compliance services.
Her practice with KPMG also included providing international and domestic tax planning, compliance and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals in the Seattle area. She finds that her tax and accounting background places her in a unique and invaluable position to help clients with tax issues that invariably arise in the areas of her law practice.
Emily studied Business and Accounting while pursuing her undergraduate degree at Seattle Pacific University. She received her J.D. from the University Of Denver Sturm College Of Law and was admitted to the Colorado Bar in October of 2010.
