J. Emmett Murphy is a litigation partner in our New York office. Emmett represents clients in complex commercial disputes as well as governmental regulatory and enforcement proceedings, with a particular focus on financial reporting and accounting matters. He has significant experience representing Big Four accounting firms in complex litigation and regulatory proceedings.
Emmett has argued numerous times before federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate levels. In addition to representing Big Four accounting firms, he has represented financial institutions and companies in the energy and home construction sectors.
Prior to joining King & Spalding, Emmett served as a law clerk to District Court Judge Charles L. Brieant, in the Southern District of New York, in 2006–2007.
