I am a native Texan and a life long Houstonian. I grew up and spent my formative years in South Montgomery County, Texas. I grew up in South Montgomery County, Texas before there were malls, business lining up and down the freeways or river-walks.
This area is commonly known at “The Woodlands”. Back then, it was basically the country with nothing to do other than go to the dollar cinema or the bowling alley. However, growing up in an environment like South Montgomery County, Texas in the late eighties to early nighties, you learned how to treat people with respect and how to keep your word.
Also, I learned how to be responsible for my actions. I owe a lot to my upbringing and the teachers and neighbors that I grew up with in South Montgomery County, Texas.
After attending Oak Ridge High School, I enrolled at the University of Houston Central Campus and majored in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Finance with a minor in International Studies. Before law school, I reinforced my accounting skills by working at an accounting firm. Because of this education and experience, I bring to the table analytical skills in business and asset valuation. Accounting is the language of business and thanks to my experience and education, I am fluent in it.
Before becoming licensed as an attorney, I enrolled at the University of Houston Downtown Basic Peace Officer Course and completed the statutory mandated Police Academy, fulfilling a lifetime dream.
Immediately after the Police Academy and becoming licensed, I founded the Law Office of Enrique “Henry” Torres and practiced as a solo practitioner for approximately 3 years. Thereafter, I joined my dear friend Jose Barrera, to establish Torres and Barrera, LLP, which operated as a partnership for approximately 5 years. I have been practicing over 10 years in Harris County, Texas and all of the surrounding counties.
