
Eric A. Thorsen is an associate in the firm’s New York City office, focusing his practice on defending insurance carriers, self-insured employers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters, including representation at hearings and trials.
Eric is skilled at handling depositions of physicians and independent medical examiners, overseeing the analysis and delegation of new files in large caseloads, and negotiating settlement agreements with claimants’ counsel.
Beyond his skill and experience, Eric’s practice is marked by consummate professionalism, close attention to developments in case law and state regulations, and frequent communication with clients, including drafting exhaustive trial and hearing reports for insurance adjusters and conducting telephone conferences to discuss claim status and develop defense strategies aligned with each client’s short-term needs, long-term objectives, and bottom line.
Eric graduated magna cum laude from Manhattan College and graduated cum laude from New York Law School. Before earning his J.D., Eric gained experience as an intern with the New York State Courts Access to Justice Program as well as at a prominent maritime development corporation and a Manhattan maritime law firm.
