Eric Sloat came to the law because he likes to help people. Before joining FWPC, Eric worked for nearly two years at the University of Michigan Low Income Taxpayer Clinic. There, he gained experience with tax law and advocacy.
More importantly, Eric found deep satisfaction in helping his clients: listening to their stories, guiding them through the twists and turns of the law, and reaching solutions that meet their needs.
Currently, Eric has been rotating through the various practice areas at FWPC, including estate planning, employee benefits, and estate administration; all with a special focus on tax issues and complex problem solving. Eric also assists nonprofits with obtaining—and maintaining—federal tax-exempt status.
Eric is an Ann Arbor native and graduate of the University of Michigan Law School (2017). Eric earned his BA from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland, and—prior to attending law school—was a doctoral candidate in Classics at Columbia University.
