Erik D. Syvertsen specializes in representing early-stage technology and growth companies on capital raising and transactional matters. After having served as the Head of Olshan’s Emerging Company Practice, Erik Syvertsen is now General Counsel to AngelList, where he is focused on fund product structuring, developing international markets, risk management, securities law and legal affairs.
He also continues to serve part-time as of counsel to Olshan’s Corporate/Securities Law Group, specializing in representing early-stage technology and growth companies on capital raising and transactional matters. Erik has a broad background in corporate and securities law, having represented companies from seed-stage start-ups to mature public companies and advising on a variety of M&A transactions.
Erik counsels entrepreneurs on the formation of their companies, structuring of equity capitalization and negotiation of angel, seed and venture capital financings. Erik’s practice also includes counseling venture capital and institutional investors with respect to fund formation matters and managing portfolio investments.
Erik has experience counseling clients in a variety of industries, including internet technology, hardware and robotics, consumer products, financial services, hospitality and retail. Erik received an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and his J.D., cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
