Erin Christine Cobb is a specialized immigration lawyer practicing in Illinois since 2006. She is a partner at the law firm Kriezelman Burton & Associates, LLC. She concentrates her practice on complex naturalization, removal defense, federal court litigation, asylum, and family-based immigration.
She represents her clients before the Immigration Courts, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Northern District Court of Illinois, and the Sixth and Seventh Circuits of the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Attorney Erin Cobb served on the Executive Board of the Chicago Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2015.
She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and Chicago Bar Association as well as past member of the USCIS District Director Liaison Committee, Legal Services for Detainees Committee, and Midwest Regional Conference Planning Committee.
She was the Co-Chair of both the Immigration & Nationality Law Committee and Asylum Office Liaison Committee during 2010-2011. Later, during 2013 – 2015 she served as the co-chair of the ICE Office of Chief Counsel Liaison Committee.
Erin C. Cobb has served as an Adjunct Professor teaching Immigration and Nationality Law at DePaul University College of Law.
Before becoming a full-time immigration lawyer, she taught English as a Second Language class to immigrants and intending immigrants in Chicago as well as abroad. She also gave lectures and workshops on family law, domestic violence, and different consumer & housing laws.
She frequently gives presentations to community-based organizations, professional organizations, and even high school students on topics including practice before the Immigration Courts, asylum, petitions for mandamus, naturalization, and the ramifications of criminal offenses on immigration status.
She has worked as VISTA attorney with Legal Assistance Foundation, a major legal services organization in Chicago, Illinois from 2006 – 2007, and continues to perform pro bono work through several community-based organizations.
Erin Christine Cobb attended DePaul University College of Law and graduated summa cum laude while obtaining her Juris Doctorate in 2006. Before studying law, she completed her Bachelor’s of Arts from the University of Missouri in 1999.
