Frederic T. Spindel

Fred Spindel brings more than 35 years of private practice experience across a broad range of corporate and securities regulatory transactional and enforcement work, to his role as Buckley Sandler LLP’s General Counsel.

Mr. Spindel has represented clients on a broad spectrum of business and investment-related matters, including corporate and commercial transactional matters involving public and privately held companies’ securities offerings and bank financings  and enforcement matters before securities and commodities regulatory authorities. He has also advised with respect to corporate governance and shareholder relations.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Spindel was a Partner in the Washington D.C., offices of several major national law firms. Prior to entering private practice, he served as an Assistant General Counsel of the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), and thereafter as Deputy General Counsel to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) where he was responsible for major regulatory initiatives and oversaw the agency’s litigation program.

Mr. Spindel received his J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law (Order of the Coif; Texas Law Review) and his A.B. from Cornell University. Mr. Spindel saw military service as a Captain in the United States Army and was certified by Judge Advocate General as counsel for General and Special Courts Martial.
