Gabriel Scott Spooner’s practice is focused on representing manufacturers and suppliers of various consumer products in local and national products liability and toxic tort litigation. He has represented clients in litigation involving pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter drugs, medical devices, cigarette products, automotive seating systems and employment-related matters, and in cases alleging exposure to asbestos, benzene, methylene chloride and trichloroethane.
He also has represented clients in public works construction matters and defended class action, consumer fraud and deceptive trade practice litigation concerning automobiles and food products.
In litigating these cases, Gabriel has deposed plaintiffs, fact witnesses and expert witnesses. He has also drafted and argued a range of motions, including a successful motion for summary judgment in a case involving an experimental Food and Drug Administration-approved medical device.
Gabriel was a member of a successful Shook trial team that secured for its clients enforcement of a Chinese judgment in California against a California company, and he participated in the drafting of the appellate brief when the case was appealed to the Ninth Circuit.
