Gavin J. Curley is a partner in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Directors & Officers Coverage and Insurance Coverage Practices. Mr. Curley counsels insurers in connection with coverage and liability issues arising under directors and officers liability, professional liability and employment liability policies, amongst other coverages.
Representative matters include securities class actions, shareholder derivative actions, private equity disputes, bankruptcy adversary litigation, breach of fiduciary claims, inadequate consideration claims, cross-border regulatory investigations and high-level employment practices disputes.
Mr. Curley regularly advises clients on coverage analysis and policy interpretation, claims handling and resolution, case valuation and settlement. Mr. Curley has successfully resolved numerous complex coverage disputes through mediation and other alternative dispute resolution methods. Mr. Curley has also drafted insurance policies and endorsements, as well as provided guidance to insurance underwriters on addressing specialized risks.
