Ms. Gaye E. Hertan is senior counsel and advises and represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. Her practice has a particular emphasis in the area of advising employers on human resources and employment relations issues, including wage and hour, leave of absence, employee handbooks and personnel policies, discipline decisions, and compliance with state and federal employment laws.
She also has experience in state and federal courts in employment litigation, including wage and hour claims (both class actions and individual claims), wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment claims, and in proceedings before state and federal administrative agencies.
Ms. Hertan regularly focuses her practice on issues involving the Family & Medical Leave Act, the California Family Rights Act, California pregnancy disability leaves, state leave laws, California wage and hour law, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
She has conducted training and lectured on a variety of employment law issues, including state and federal leave laws, wage and hour issues, complying with disability laws, and employment discrimination and harassment.
