George Graves’ litigation and trial experience includes representing clients across a broad span of industries, from government contractors to healthcare businesses to the debt resolution industry. Whether a case involves trademark matters, partnership disputes, or real estate issues, George has the experience and knowledge to navigate the litigation process in both state and federal court.

A Haynes and Boone lawyer since graduating law school, George’s practice primarily focuses on commercial litigation, including business torts and contract matters. George has previously assisted in the defense of clients in fraud and breach of fiduciary matters, and regularly represents clients in matters as varied as fraud claims asserted by a former subcontractor to property tax disputes before the Dallas County tax courts.

In addition to general commercial litigation, George has substantial experience litigating trademark matters in federal court as well as before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. George recently assisted in the successful defense of a Chinese intellectual property firm, resulting in the client retaining ownership of its trademark from its former marketing agent.

Successfully arguing the merits of his clients’ case is only part of the battle, as adverse parties in litigation often attempt to exploit the procedural rules in order to gain leverage. George has therefore spent a substantial portion of his career fighting for his clients against these tactics and ensuring he finds the best possible position to prevail on their disputes.

In doing so, George has defended clients in federal court against motions to compel arbitration, assisted in forming strong legal arguments during the preliminary injunction and summary judgment phases of litigation, and drafted motions for attorneys’ fees and costs at the resolution of litigation. George also has substantial experience in helping clients resolve their issues through alternative dispute methods such as mediation.

A native resident of Dallas, George stays active in the community and local high school, college, and law school alumni groups. George also continues to hone his litigation skills in the community, including volunteering his time at the Arlington City Attorney’s office in the summer of 2014.
