
George J.A. Clemo represents public utilities in state regulatory proceedings before the Virginia State Corporation Commission. He also works in a wide range of general business transactions, including financing, commercial lending, general corporate and business work, and international transactions.
George handles a range of tax-exempt financing, including general obligation financing for localities and conduit financing for private companies. Many Virginia municipalities and government agencies rely on George for his experience and knowledge of bond financing for school, water, and sewer projects.
George has served on the board of directors of the Virginia State Bar International Practice Section and the VSB Administrative Law Section. He is a former member of the Woods Rogers board of directors.
A native of the United Kingdom, George earned a bachelor’s degree in foreign affairs with distinction and a master’s degree in history from the University of Virginia. His law degree is from the College of William & Mary, where he served on the editorial board of the William & Mary Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif honor society.
