
George L. Smith, Esq., a graduate of Trinity College and St. John’s University School of Law, began his legal career at the New York law firm of Mudge, Rose Guthrie, Alexander & Ferdon in 1981.
He then joined the Greenwich office of Whitman & Ransom in 1987, becoming a partner in the Trusts and Estates department of that firm which later merged with Breed Abbott & Morgan to become Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan.
Mr. Smith joined the Greenwich office of the Hartford-based law firm of Robinson & Cole in 1995 as a partner and became head of its Individual Clients Section in 2002.
Mr. Smith is admitted to practice law in Connecticut, New York and Florida and is a member of the bar associations in those states, as well as the American Bar Association and Greenwich Bar Association.
He is also a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel, a member of the Executive Committee of the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Lower Fairfield County Estate Planning Council.
Starting in 2006, Mr. Smith has been included in the directory of “The Best Lawyers in America” for Trusts & Estates Law and in “New England Super Lawyers for Estate Planning & Probate.”
