Ghani Hamadi focuses his practice on drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to wireless communication, networking infrastructure, digital content management, mobile technologies, computer software, and business methods.
He also works on several aspects of pre-trial preparation such as infringement and validity analysis and research. Prior to joining Finnegan, Ghani worked at an intellectual property search firm as a senior director managing U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) contracts.
He served for nearly six years as a patent analyst contracting at the USPTO, where he examined Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) patent applications related to a wide variety of technologies, including electronics, data processing and analytics, network communications, information storage, multiplexing, image and audio processing, signal processing, and healthcare information technology.
While in law school, Ghani served as a teaching assistant for trademark law. He also worked as a law clerk for the Entertainment Software Association, assisting in the research and analysis of piracy status and enforcement efforts of entertainment software in foreign countries. Ghani contributed to petitioning efforts concerning greater protection of entertainment software during rulemaking of the Family Entertainment and Copyright Act.
