Gina Leigh Wood focuses her practice in areas like family law, estate planning, divorce, adoption, and criminal defense. She completed her Bachelor of Arts from the Illinois State University in 1990 and earned her Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 1994. She has the license to practice law in Illinois.
She started her legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney with the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office in Bloomington Normal. She joined the law firm, Thomson & Weintraub, LLC in 1995 and became its partner in 2000.
She is a member of the Leading Lawyers Network since 2009. The Leading Lawyers Network named her in the Top Ten downstate woman lawyer list and the Top Ten downstate female criminal defense attorney list in 2015. They also named her a Leading Lawyer in 2017.
Gina Wood became a trained and court approved family law mediator in 2005 due to her practice in alternative dispute resolution and through Northwestern University.
