
Gina E. Oderda is a partner in the Chicago office of Mayer Brown’s Private Clients, Trusts & Estates practice. Her practice focuses on estate and tax planning for high net worth individuals, estate and trust administration, international estate planning, and establishing and advising not-for-profit organizations.
Gina has experience drafting a wide range of sophisticated estate planning documents. These documents include wills, revocable living trusts, generation skipping transfer (GST) tax exempt trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs), qualified personal residence trusts (QPRTs), charitable remainder trusts, and charitable lead trusts.
She also has experience preparing limited liability company agreements, partnership agreements, premarital agreements, powers of attorney for health care and property, and living wills. She has advised clients and prepared trusts and related documents for non-US citizens and residents with US assets and for US citizens living abroad.
Gina has been recognized as an Emerging Lawyer in the Trust, Will, & Estate Planning Law category. She has given presentations and authored chapters in books related to estate planning and estate administration to the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education (IICLE), the Chicago Bar Association, and the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law.
Gina is a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council, the Chicago Community Trust’s Young Professional Advisory Committee, and the Lyric Opera’s Planned Giving Advisory Council. Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2012, Gina was an associate at another large law firm in Chicago.
