Glen Alan Kyle

Glen Alan Kyle is the owner of the Knoxville law office of Franklin & Kyle Elder Law, LLC. His practice in the specialized field of elder law over the past five years has included Life Care Planning, Medicaid and Veterans’ Benefits planning, estate planning (powers of attorney, wills, and trusts), conservatorships, probate and trust administration.

A Murfreesboro native, Glen earned a bachelor’s degree in History from Rutgers University. He has lived in Edinburgh, Scotland and travelled extensively in the United Kingdom. Glen pursued a long career in banking at the branch level that included serving in branch management.

During his ten years as a banker he developed strong relationships with older adults in the community and saw first hand the need for our society to protect older adults from financial exploitation.

These experiences led him to earn a law degree from the only Tennessee University with an Elder Law Legal Clinic, the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. In addition to being an honor student, Glen was elected by peers and professors to be the business editor of the Memphis Law Review.

Glen is very popular speaker in our community, and has conducted presentations for attorneys, financial and healthcare professionals, and churches; aging and long term care organizations, and organizations supporting those dealing with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, A.L.S., and other diseases affecting older adults.

Presenting to groups in Knoxville and surrounding counties, his most requested Elder Law topics include “Completing Your Legal To-Do List”, “Saving Momma’s Home: Frequently Asked Questions about the Medicaid Program”, and “Planning for Long Term Care: How Will We Pay?” He also teaches continuing legal education programs for attorneys, and has done so through presentations with the Knoxville Estate Planning Council, Tennessee Attorney’s Memo, and NBI.

Glen is the author of “Spousal Annuities, An Old and New Planning Option,” published in the July 1, 2017 edition of the Tennessee Bar Journal.

He is a member of the Knoxville Estate Planning Council, and the Knoxville Bar Association. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, and serves on the Executive Council of the Elder Law Section. He also serves as a board member of the Knoxville Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Providers and of the P.J. Parkinson’s Support Group.
